From 1810 to 1816, the little known American fur trapper, traveler, and adventurer Russel Farnham, circumnavigated the globe. He helped to found Astoria Oregon arriving on the ship Tonquin in 1811 and later in his life is credited with helping to create the State of Oregon. The Farnham Project is dedicated to raising awareness of this forgotten historical figure by recreating his remarkable journey from Astoria Oregon to St. Petersburg Russia.

I was very excited to stumble upon this blog/project. For that last year or so I have been researching a fur trader by the name of George Davenport who operated out of Rock Island, IL from 1816-1845. His partner from 1824-1832 was Russel Farnham. Have you had any luck in your search? I noticed this blog has not been updated since 2010.
